Chananda: The Master of Peace, Divine Government, and Golden-Age Vision
In the teachings of the Ascended Masters, Chananda is known as the chief of the Indian Council of the Great White Brotherhood. He is also the hierarch of the Cave of Light, the focus of the Great Divine Director in India.
Adjacent to the Cave of Light is the Place of Light, the home of Chananda and his sister, the Ascended Lady Master Najah. Together, their service is connected with the spiritual work of India, the guidance of souls, and the unfolding of a higher plan for humanity.
Chananda’s work reaches far beyond one nation. His mission touches the future of India, the healing of division among peoples, and the precipitation of a golden-age government based on divine principles.
A Scholar from Ancient Mu
Chananda was once a scholar on Mu and lived in the City of the Seven Hills, where San Francisco now stands. His soul carried a deep understanding of spiritual law, divine order, and the ancient wisdom of the Brotherhood.
He was also embodied at the time of Jesus and knew the Master in Judea. In Jesus, Chananda perceived the radiant magnetism of the Christ and the presence of immortality shining through the outer garment.
This recognition reveals something of Chananda’s own spiritual perception. He was able to see beyond outer appearance and recognize the divine reality within the Master.
The Power of the Ascended Host
The teachings also tell of Chananda demonstrating extraordinary powers available to the ascended hosts.
On one occasion, he levitated himself, Godfre, Rex, Nada, Bob, and Pearl on what appeared to be a magic carpet — a sheet of metal covered with a Persian rug — eleven thousand feet into the atmosphere so they could view a valley from above.
This account gives us a glimpse of the mastery of the ascended hosts over matter, energy, vibration, and physical law. Yet the purpose of such demonstrations is not spectacle. It is to show the possibilities of spiritual attainment and the power of divine law when mastered by the ascended ones.
Chananda’s Service with Saint Germain
In 1973, Chananda came forth to assist Saint Germain in implementing his plan for the freedom of the earth. His sister, Najah, had also come forth earlier, in 1938, to serve in the work of the Brotherhood.
Chananda assists the governments of the world, while Najah works with the youth. She often appears as a young girl in parts of India and China, teaching and helping the people.
This division of service is beautiful: Chananda working with governments and world conditions, Najah working with the youth and future generations. Together, they serve both the present structure of civilization and the souls who will help shape its future.
Chananda and Golden-Age Government
Chananda is currently working on a top-priority project with the Darjeeling Council and unascended initiates of the Brotherhood.
Part of this project involves the precipitation of a golden-age government based on the principles behind the Constitution of the United States.
In the teachings, the Constitution is understood as a God-inspired document released to America by its founder, the Ascended Master Saint Germain. When properly used and followed, it can provide the key to a golden-age civilization that is just beyond the horizon.
This makes Chananda’s work especially meaningful for students of God-government. His service is not only about spiritual ideals, but about the practical manifestation of divine order in the governments of the world.
Golden-age government begins with divine principles. It requires wisdom, justice, mercy, freedom, spiritual discipline, and obedience to the will of God.
Healing Racial and Religious Division
Chananda is particularly concerned with racial and religious divisions between people, as well as the future of India.
This concern is deeply relevant today. Around the world, humanity continues to face division based on religion, race, culture, nationality, and belief. Chananda’s service calls us to rise above separation and to seek the higher path of peace.
His message reminds us that peace is not weakness. Peace is a spiritual force. It is rooted in God, strengthened by discipline, and made powerful through divine alignment.
Chananda teaches that the path of peace is the way of overcoming. India’s victory through nonviolence is a spiritual lesson for the world. The peace of the Buddha is not passive; it is the all-power of God when the soul is united with divine law.
The Path of Peace
Chananda warns that if we depend on the peace of the Buddha as the ultimate power, then we must understand the terms of that peace. We must make peace with God if we expect God to provide that power when peace is challenged.
This is a profound teaching.
Peace must begin within. It must begin with the soul’s reconciliation with God. We cannot invoke divine peace while holding on to hatred, bitterness, division, or rebellion against divine law.
True peace requires inner alignment. It requires the surrender of the human will to the divine will. It requires self-mastery, humility, courage, and spiritual obedience.
When peace is rooted in God, it becomes a force greater than violence. It becomes a shield, a power, and a path of victory.
Chananda’s Message for Today
Chananda’s work speaks directly to the needs of our time.
The world needs governments guided by divine principles.
The world needs healing between races, religions, and nations.
The world needs youth who are taught the higher laws of life.
The world needs leaders who understand peace as the power of God.
The world needs souls willing to help bring forth a golden age.
For the Washington, D.C. Community Teaching Center, Chananda’s message is especially meaningful. Washington, D.C. is the seat of government in America, and Chananda’s work with world governments and golden-age principles connects deeply with the spiritual responsibility of this city.
His service reminds us that God-government is not merely an idea. It is a work to be called forth, prayed for, decreed for, and embodied by those who serve the light.
A Call to Serve the Golden Age
Chananda teaches us to hold the vision of a higher civilization — one founded on divine law, peace, justice, unity, and the freedom of the soul.
He reminds us that peace must be practiced, government must be spiritualized, and humanity must overcome the divisions that keep the family of God separated.
May we call to Chananda for peace among nations, healing among peoples, and the manifestation of God-government on earth.
May we support Saint Germain’s plan for the freedom of the earth.
May we help prepare the way for golden-age government.
May the peace of the Buddha and the will of God guide the hearts of leaders and people everywhere.
